Jürgen Klopp doubts Szoboszlai will be fit in time for Carabao Cup final

Jürgen Klopp has raised doubts about Dominik Szoboszlai's availability for the Carabao Cup final due to his recurring muscle injury. The Hungarian captain was absent from the recent defeat against Arsenal after returning from a hamstring problem in the match against Chelsea. As a result of the repeated nature of the injury, there is no specific timeline for his return, and Klopp expressed uncertainty about his fitness for the upcoming game against Chelsea at Wembley on February 25th.

Klopp explained that tendon-related issues tend to resolve quickly, but the focus shifts to the muscle. Unfortunately, Szoboszlai has suffered a similar injury again, which is concerning. The specific timing for his return is uncertain, whether it's before the Brentford match, the final, or after the final.

Liverpool also faced a setback when Thiago Alcântara sustained a muscle injury during his brief comeback against Arsenal after being sidelined for 10 months with a hip problem. However, Klopp expects Thiago to make a return before the season concludes and has the option of Wataru Endo, who is available following Japan's elimination from the Asian Cup.

Mohamed Salah, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury obtained during the Africa Cup of Nations, remains sidelined. Klopp is optimistic that Salah will return to training before the Carabao Cup final, with the possibility of his involvement in parts of training next week or the week after.
